February 2022 Newsletter
February Meeting – Wednesday, February 2, 2022, 7:00 PM
Club Meeting Covid Safety Procedures: Masks are optional at our meetings. Chairs will continue to be spread out to allow for social distancing. The room is large enough that if you feel uncomfortable being too close to others there is room to spread out and wear a mask as you feel necessary. And, as always, if you are not feeling well or are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19, please stay home. We will miss you, but it is better to remain safe.
We encourage you to come to the in-person meeting as that is the best way for us to get to know each other better and to get the most out of the meetings. We will however continue to offer Zoom as an option for those who cannot attend in person.
Program – Travel Photography – Kevin Thomas
Kevin spent three months working at a summer camp in New Mexico last year. He will share some of experience and pictures he took over his three months in the west.
2022 Club Programs:
We need your help! We are looking for one or several members to step up and help us coordinate future programs. This does not mean you have to present the programs but coordinate outside speakers and club members who are willing to give us programs on various diverse topics. If you are willing to help, please contact our club president Elizabeth Whitcomb (Lizannwhit@gmail.com)
We want to provide programs that are interesting to you! Please let us know what topics would interest you for future meetings. If you are aware of any speakers that might be of general interest to club members, let us know that too. Any input you can provide will help our future meetings be interesting for all members.
Our future programs and meeting dates are listed below.
2022 Program Schedule:
· March 2, 2022 – Judging of Wisconsin PSA Club Showcase images.
· April 6, 2022
· May 4, 2022

Member Image Sharing:
Members are encouraged to submit several (up to five) images to share with the club for gentle critique. This is a great way to get suggestions for improving your images and developing your photographic skills. To give everyone a chance to share their images during the year, we will select several individuals who will be featured at each meeting. Other individuals may also provide images which will be shared as time permits.
The following members will be featured this month: Lisa Conley, Wally Ekart, Jim Edlhuber, John Hasse, Jim Hayes.
Please email your images to Elizabeth Whitcomb Lizannwhit@gmail.com ) by Tuesday, February 1st. This will help to streamline the process of viewing member images. We look forward to seeing your images.
Field Trips:
Lake Geneva Winterfest, Friday, February 4th. We have received an invitation from the Unlimited Vision Photo Club to join them in an outing to the Lake Geneva Winterfest. Caryl Sedushak has provided the following information:
Some members of Unlimited Vision Photo Club are going to Lake Geneva’s Winterfest on Friday, February 4. Members will meet at the Walmart parking lot in Waukesha on West Street and Hwy 59 at 1:30 pm and leave at 1:45 pm. We'll carpool from there and should arrive in Lake Geneva by 2:30 pm. There will be time to go around the area and get shots of the sculptures. Some might not be quite finished, but we can either get shots of the works in progress or key in on some of the sculpture highlights. Sunset that night is at 5:08 pm, and we will be at the east end of the lake so there may be some good sunset shots. Then if anyone is interested, we could eat there and afterwards make one more trip around to see if any sculptures are lighted.
If you want to carpool, please let David Kielpinski know at davidk10013@gmail.com or call 815-575-6926.
It has been a while since we have had a field trip. If any members have any locations that would provide us some good photo opportunities, please let Caryl (Caryl.Sedushak@me.com) know.
